Polyend, a renowned musical instruments company, has recently unveiled their latest offering for musicians and producers worldwide. The Play+ groovebox is an upgraded version of their original Play model, boasting a range of new and improved features.
One of the most notable enhancements of the Play+ is the inclusion of four built-in synth engines. These engines consist of an emulation of a single-oscillator monophonic analogue instrument, a vintage analogue synth emulation, a virtual analogue instrument with a dual-oscillator design, and a 2-operator FM synth with wavetable-based oscillators. With these options at their disposal, users can now explore a wider range of creative possibilities.
The Play+ is powered by an upgraded processor, enabling stereo sample playback and multitrack audio streaming over USB. This switch to stereo samples promises a more immersive and expansive sonic experience for musicians. Additionally, the Play+ comes with new stereo sample packs in addition to its existing library of over 5,000 samples, ensuring users have a vast array of sounds to experiment with.
In terms of functionality, the Play+ offers multitrack USB audio support, allowing up to 14 stereo audio tracks to be sent to a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) separately for further processing. Despite these advancements, the Play+ retains the user-friendly workflow and spirit of its predecessor. Users can still utilize the 8×16 step grid for sequencing tracks, per-step parameter sequencing, multiple effects, play modes, and randomization options.
New features exclusive to the Play+ include a piano roll for building melodies and scale filtering to input and output only notes that fit the selected scale. These additions provide musicians with even greater control and precision in composing their music.
In terms of connectivity, the Play+ offers MIDI I/O, stereo line/headphone output, and USB-C options. To further enhance user experience, the Play+ comes equipped with a 16GB MicroSD card for additional storage.
Interested individuals can now purchase the Play+ directly from the Polyend website. The Play+ is priced at $799/€799, with an upgrade option available for existing Play owners for $399/€399. This upgrade option allows Play owners to unlock the full potential of the Play+ without having to invest in a completely new device.
With its extensive range of features and improvements, the Play+ groovebox from Polyend is poised to become a go-to tool for musicians and producers looking to elevate their creative endeavors.
