The Pixel Watch, one of the most anticipated smartwatches from Google, has just received its September 2023 update. However, the update comes with a twist – it only includes the latest security patch. The rollout was supposed to take place last week, but unfortunately, there was a delay that only affected phones and not the Wear OS.
Currently, the Pixel Watch is sitting on the September 5, 2023 security patch level and is running on Wear OS 3.5. Users will find the global build number RWDC.230905.003 on their devices. Google’s official changelog for this update only mentions the security patch, leaving users curious about what other enhancements or bug fixes might have been included.
Although the OTA rollout for all Pixel Watch devices is scheduled to begin on September 11, there is an unexpected gap in the release schedule for devices in Canada. They will have to wait until September 18 to receive the update, causing some disappointment among Canadian users.
As of noon Pacific Time, the regular method of manually checking for updates on the Pixel Watch does not seem to be working just yet. However, users can try a workaround by tapping the “Your watch is up to date” screen multiple times in the system settings. Additionally, disabling Bluetooth and enabling Wi-Fi might speed up the update process.
For more information regarding the Pixel Watch’s features and specifications, users can visit the official Google website or other trusted sources. While this update may not deliver much beyond the security patch, it is still important for users to keep their devices up to date to ensure optimal performance and protection against potential security threats.
As the Pixel Watch continues to make waves in the smartwatch market, users eagerly await future updates and enhancements that will further enhance their wearable experience.
