CosMc’s, a spinoff restaurant from McDonald’s, recently made its highly anticipated debut in Bolingbrook, a suburb of Chicago. This vintage-inspired eatery has been causing a stir both on social media and throughout the Chicago area.
During the soft-opening day, chopper footage captured the sight of rows upon rows of cars eagerly lining up at the drive-thru windows. Clearly, the excitement surrounding CosMc’s has been palpable.
Described as a “small-format, beverage-led” concept restaurant, CosMc’s is part of a limited test by McDonald’s. While the menu includes beloved McDonald’s classics like Egg McMuffins and M&M McFlurry, it also introduces new and unique items, such as the Creamy Avocado Tomatillo Sandwich and Spicy Queso Sandwich.
However, it is the beverage menu that truly sets CosMc’s apart. It features a range of otherworldly creations, including specialty lemonades, tea, espresso drinks, and cold coffee. What’s more, customers have the opportunity to customize their drinks with additions like boba, flavored syrups, energy boosters, and vitamin C shots.
The restaurant takes its name from a vintage McDonaldland mascot named CosMc, an alien character popularized in the late 1980s and early 1990s. This nod to McDonald’s history adds an extra layer of nostalgia to the overall experience.
McDonald’s has ambitious plans for CosMc’s, with approximately 10 locations set to open by the end of 2024. These new locations will include the Dallas Fort-Worth and San Antonio metro areas, expanding the reach of this innovative concept.
To mark the opening of the Bolingbrook location, a soft-opening took place on Friday, with festivities planned throughout the weekend. This provided a chance for eager customers to experience the unique offerings firsthand, while also celebrating the arrival of CosMc’s in the area.
CosMc’s has captured the attention of food enthusiasts, McDonald’s fans, and curious locals alike. With its vintage-inspired ambiance, diverse menu, and exciting beverage options, it is clear that CosMc’s is a restaurant concept worth keeping an eye on.
