In a major announcement, Overwatch 2 revealed that all new heroes will immediately be available to all players starting in Season 10. This marks a significant departure from previous seasons, where new heroes were locked behind the premium battle pass or required a lengthy progression grind.
Not only will new heroes be accessible to all players, but all previously released heroes will also be immediately available, with no battle pass required. However, players must complete the game’s tutorial to unlock the original roster of heroes.
Furthermore, Mythic Skins, which were previously exclusive to battle passes, will now be purchasable in a new Mythic Shop. Additionally, players will receive premium currency Coins as they progress through the battle pass in Season 10, with weekly challenges now rewarding Battle Pass XP instead of Coins.
Excitingly, new maps are also on the horizon, with Season 10 introducing the Hanaoka map for the Clash mode. Season 11 will follow with the Peru-themed Runasapi map for Push mode, as well as reworked versions of popular maps like Colosseo and Dorado.
The team behind Overwatch 2 is dedicated to delivering a fun and engaging experience for players as the game continues to evolve with each season. Season 10 is set to launch on April 16th, promising an enhanced gameplay experience for all players. Stay tuned for more updates as Overwatch 2 continues to respond to player feedback and evolve in exciting new ways.
