The U.S. Integrity is currently investigating suspicious gambling activity in two men’s basketball programs, with Loyola (Maryland) being one of them. Loyola recently became aware of a gambling violation by an individual connected to their program and swiftly reported it to the NCAA. The individual was promptly removed from the team.
The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency has provided information to the authorities on licensed operators in the state, confirming previously known details about the situation. Loyola’s season came to an end with a loss to Maryland, leading to the parting ways with their head coach, Tavaras Hardy.
In another development, Thursday night’s game between Temple and UAB saw a significant line movement before UAB claimed a 100-72 victory on the road. Temple is currently reviewing reports of unusual betting activity surrounding the game. U.S. Integrity has been keeping an eye on Temple games for a while now.
It is worth noting that U.S. Integrity’s involvement in monitoring games has not been favorable for bad actors in the past, as demonstrated in the Alabama baseball betting scandal. Temple’s first-year head coach, Adam Fisher, finds himself with the team tied for last place in the American Athletic Conference with one regular-season game remaining. The investigation into the suspicious gambling activities continues as the college basketball season progresses.
